Vol. 255 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Semi-State Body Reports.

50.

asked the Minister for Justice if any of the semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department is obliged by statute to furnish an annual report; if so, if any such body has failed to furnish a report within the time limit laid down for it by statute; the reasons for the delay; and what action he proposes to take to ensure the early production of such reports.

There are no bodies of the kind envisaged in the question under the aegis of my Department.

Could the Minister state what the obligation is in relation to the time limit for the presentation of the report of the Garda Commissioner and if that time limit is at present being exceeded?

That is a separate question.

There is no time limit. Of course the Garda Commissioner is not a semi-State body. I understand that in fact it will be available very shortly.
