Vol. 255 No. 19

Written Answers. - County Dublin Housing.

123.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received proposals from Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation regarding development work for 300 housing sites, including sites for 150 rental houses and for a co-operative group scheme of 100 houses at Ballybrack, County Dublin; the date on which he received such proposals; and when he expects to give approval to the corporation to invite tenders.

A layout for 150 sites for private housing development in section D of the Ballybrack-Loughlinstown housing area was received in my Department from Dún Laoghaire Corporation on 23rd July, 1971. The corporation indicated that 85 of these sites have already been allocated to private persons or organisations to build houses for themselves or for their members. The layout is being examined and a decision on it will be given shortly. No proposal for the carrying out of the proposed development work has been submitted but I understand that the corporation intend to invite tenders simultaneously for the site development work for section D and also for site development work for a proposed scheme comprising 150 local authority houses in section C of the area.
