Vol. 256 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers (Resumed). - Medical Service for Soldiers.

174.

asked the Minister for Defence whether his Department has plans to provide general medical services for families of soldiers living in local authority dwellings.

The Deputy was informed in the reply given to his question on 4th March, 1970, of the medical and hospital facilities available to soldiers' dependants. The extension of these facilities by my Department is not at present contemplated. I would, however, invite the Deputy's attention to the reply given by the Tánaiste to his question on 20th July, 1971, in regard to the participation of the families of non-commissioned members of the Defence Forces in the new choice of doctor scheme.
