Vol. 256 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers (Resumed). - Military Widow's Pensions.

188.

asked the Minister for Defence if, on account of the confusion caused by confining widows' pensions to widows of persons who were in receipt of military service pensions and debarring the widows of persons with any other type of pension or allowance, he will now make arrangements to extend the scope of this scheme to cover all veterans' widows.

It is not proposed to extend the scope of the Army Pensions Act, 1971, to cover widows other than the widows of persons who were awarded Service Pensions under the Military Service Pensions Acts, 1924 and 1934, and the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Act, 1936.
