Vol. 257 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bray Parking Meters.

146.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the opposition from the business and commercial section as well as residents of the community in Bray to the proposal to erect parking meters in the Main Street of Bray, County Wicklow, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received no proposals for or objections to the provision of parking meters in Bray. The matter would come before me if the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, after consultation with the local authority, sought my consent to appropriate parking by-laws for the area. If such by-laws were made and my consent were sought, I would be required to consider any representations on the matter made to me by the local authority.
