Vol. 259 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Lands.

27.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Donohue estate, Kilbeg, Stradbally, County Laois, will be divided.

28.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Reary Beg estate, County Laois (Record No. S22791), comprising 59 acres, will be divided, in view of the number of small uneconomic holdings in the area.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 27 and 28 together.

Possession of the 36-acre Donohue holding has not yet passed to the Land Commission, but, when it does, a composite scheme for division of these and other lands in the locality, aggregating 338 acres, will be prepared.

Composite resale plans have been formulated for the Dempsey estate at Reary Beg and another property in the vicinity, aggregating 84 acres, and it is hoped that allocation of at least a substantial part of the lands will be effected this season.
