Vol. 259 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Government Office Rents.

21.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of commercial rent paid for 1971 in respect of Government offices; and the amounts paid to the three largest providers of such accommodation.

The total amount paid in 1971 in respect of commercial rents for Government offices amounted to approximately £600,000.

It is not the practice to disclose the amount of commercial rents payable in respect of individual properties and it would not be in the public interest to do so.

Could the Minister state the number of persons to whom the rent was payable without specifying the amounts?

I could not do that offhand. I might be able to do so in reply to a separate question.
