Vol. 259 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Safety Education.

9.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs whether the Government are prepared to take action on the recommendations of the Council of Europe Assembly on road safety problems; and in view of the fact that in Recommendation 644 (1971) the Assembly, through the Committee of Ministers, urges Council of Europe member Governments to develop post-school road safety education, if he will indicate what plans the Government have in this regard.

An official co-ordinated programme for road accident prevention was recently announced —by the Minister for Local Government—and regard will be had to the recommendations of the Consultative Assembly in the formulation of that programme.
