Vol. 260 No. 7

Industrial Development Bill, 1972: First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the Industrial Development Act, 1969, to provide relief from rates in respect of certain premises provided for industrial undertakings, and to provide for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.
— (Minister for Industry and Commerce.)

I take it that this Bill is one that is not very involved?

No. Basically, it has two purposes: in the first place it is to allow for the provision of more money for the IDA and, secondly, it is to embrace rates remission for factories in underdeveloped areas.

When will copies of the Bill be available?

They should be available by Friday next.

Second Stage ordered for Tuesday, 2nd May, 1972.
