Vol. 260 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gulf Oil Terminal Agreement.

6.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he has deposited in the Library of the House a copy of the full lease agreement between the Government and Gulf Oil Terminals (Ireland) Limited.

Following the undertaking I gave the Deputy on 12th April, 1972, when replying to previous questions by him on this subject, I have examined the question of depositing in the Library of the House a copy of the lease under the Foreshore Act, 1933, referred to by him.

Under section 20 of the Foreshore Act, 1933, I am obliged to submit each year to the Oireachtas a statement giving brief particulars of all leases granted under the Act in the previous year. The statement so presented in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1969, contains the relevant information in regard to the lease granted to Gulf Oil. In addition, this lease is registered in the Registry of Deeds, Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, and a copy of a memorial of the lease may be obtained by any member of the public for the Registrar on payment of a small fee.

In these circumstances it would be inappropriate to present a copy of the lease to the Oireachtas. However, since there is nothing confidential contained in it I will send a copy of the lease to the Deputy.
