Vol. 261 No. 11

Written Answers. - Bord na Móna Superannuation Scheme.

93.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will state the text of the clarification given to Bord na Móna referred to in a reply of 13th June, 1972.

Following discussions between Bord na Móna, the Department of Finance and my Department it was agreed that, subject to appropriate decisions by the Bord na Móna Superannuation Committee, supplementary pensions would be payable to insured members who retired and who had not reached the age of 70. In the circumstances no text of clarification was necessary.

The amount of the supplementary pension will be subject to a maximum equal to the difference between the contributory old age pension (single rate) and whatever other Social Welfare benefit (single rate) is being paid to the pensioner before he reaches the age of 70.
