Vol. 262 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Banned Books.

44.

andMr. Fox asked the Minister for Justice the total number of books by Irish authors which have been banned during the last five years.

The particulars in relation to prohibited books which the Censorship of Publications Board is obliged by law to enter in the register of prohibited publications and to publish include the names but not the nationality of the authors. The latest published list of prohibited publications shows the position on 31st December, 1970. Copies of the list are available in the Library.

Has the Minister got the nationality of the publishing houses.

I do not know if that is in the question, a Cheann Comhairle.

That is a separate question.
