Vol. 262 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly School.

34.

asked the Minister for Finance the steps he proposes taking to provide the extra accommodation which has already been sanctioned at Clonmacnoise national school, County Offaly, for the pupils of Clonfanlough, Clonlyon et cetera; if he is aware of complains by pupils and parents because of inadequate facilities in the school; and if he will take steps to have the new additions provided before the end of next August.

Plans and specifications for the extension and improvement of this school are nearing completion and it is hoped to invite tenders for the work in the next few weeks. Every effort will be made to have the scheme carried out with the minimum of delay but I regret that, having regard to the amount of work involved, it would be out of the question to have it completed by the end of next August.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary undertake to have the school manager notified with the least possible delay so that local arrangements can be made?
