Vol. 262 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Creameries Take-Over.

45.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if his Department received a request from the Dairy Disposal Company creameries, Listowel, County Kerry, to receive a deputation to discuss the conditions for the take-over of the creameries; and, if so, the date on which it was received and the reasons for the delay in receiving this deputation.

The consultative committee of suppliers to the Dairy Disposal Company's Listowel creamery group requested such a discussion at the end of January last but this was deferred pending general examination of the creamery structure in County Kerry as arranged at a meeting in November, 1971, with representatives of the company's milk suppliers in the county. The Listowel group suppliers renewed their request at mid-June and a meeting with them is due to take place next Friday.
