Vol. 262 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Civic Offices.

136.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the present position in regard to the provision of civic offices for Dublin Corporation.

The appeals under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963 are still under consideration by me and I expect to give a decision in the very near future.

Will the Minister, in giving his decision, take into consideration the fact that the area in question is designated as the most historic part of Dublin and that acres of open space are available at the cattle market?

It is not available.

Of course, it is.

The Minister is not in a position to comment, as the Deputy knows.

I am asking him to take it into consideration.

I have taken all these matters into account but I have not reached a final decision yet.

History will thank the Minister.
