Vol. 262 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Backward Children Tuition.

57.

asked the Minister for Education whether he has received any request from residents of Edenmore, Dublin, for the provision of special facilities in the local national school to cater for backward children; and, if so, whether he has taken any steps to deal with this request.

I have received no application from the residents of Edenmore in the matter referred to by the Deputy.

I would, however, point out that both the boys' and the girls' schools in Edenmore have already been allowed a special extra teacher to provide remedial tuition for children at the schools in need of such teaching.
