Figures of local authority indebtedness are compiled as at the 31st March each year. The total indebtedness of local authorities, excluding health boards, harbour authorities, vocational education committees and committees of agriculture was estimated to be £338.56 million at 31st March, 1972. The corresponding figure at 31st March, 1971 was £306.35 million.
