asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of social welfare pensioners in receipt of pensions (i) under £3 per week; (ii) £3-£4; (iii) £4-£5; (iv) £5-£6; (v) £6- £7; (vi) £7-£8; (vii) £8-£10; and (viii) over £10.

(a) Includes allowances in respect of adult dependants. One thousand and forty-three pensioners are also receiving additional allowances in respect of child dependants and three hundred and ninety-six incapacitated pensioners are receiving an allowance of £3 per week in respect of full-time care and attention provided by a prescribed relative.

(b) Basic rates of pension only. One thousand, five hundred and one pensioners are receiving additional allowances in respect of child dependants and one thousand, five hundred and twenty-six incapacitated pensioners are receiving an allowance of £3 per week in respect of full-time care and attention provided by a prescribed relative.
