asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange that children's allowances be extended beyond the age of 16 where the children concerned are in fulltime attendance at school.

An extension of the Children's allowances scheme on the lines suggested by the Deputy is not at present contemplated.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if any further consideration has been given by his Department to the amendment of the regulation whereby a claim for children's allowance may be submitted only by the father of the family.

The answer is in the negative.
