Vol. 263 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disabled Persons Concessions.

115.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange for people receiving disability benefit and who have no other income to be given concessions in regard to free television licence, free travel and free electricity as is available at present to old age pensioners.

The schemes of free television licence, free travel and free electricity allowance were devised primarily for old people, aged 70 or over, who are receiving social welfare pensions and who fulfil certain other conditions. Extension of the schemes on the lines proposed by the Deputy is not contemplated.
