asked the Minister for Justice if he will reconsider his decision to close Barrack Street and Togher Garda stations in Cork.

The question of retaining Garda stations at Barrack Street and Togher is being examined as part of a general review of police needs of Cork city. Pending completion of this review and receipt of the Commissioner's recommendations I am not in a position to say what the outcome of the review will be.

asked the Minister for Justice the location of the new Garda station at Blackrock, Cork; and when it is expected to be opened.

It is proposed to locate the new Garda station for Blackrock in the grounds of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs Training School.

It is not possible at this stage to indicate when the new station will be opened.
