There are at present guidance teachers in 200 post-primary schools and every effort is being made to increase the number of teachers qualified in guidance work as rapidly as possible. 71.

asked the Minister for Education what steps his Department are taking for instruction in career guidance to potential university entrants.

Under my Department's proposals for the provision of pupil guidance in post-primary schools the services of the guidance teacher will be available to all pupils throughout their post-primary course and will include such matters as the likely prospects for those pupils desiring to enter universities.
