asked the Taoiseach the total number of wage and salary earners in the income ranges of £1,600 to £2,000; £2,000 to £2,500; £2,500 to £3,000 and over £3,000.

The only data available relate to industrial workers in transportable goods industries and to persons in the Civil Service. I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the relevant available information.

Following is the statement:

(1) Estimated numbers of industrial workers in Transportable Goods Industries with certain rates of weekly earnings in September 1970.
