Written Answers. - Drogheda Industrial Proposals.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) the number of proposals for new industries in the Drogheda, County Louth area which have been received in his Department in the past two years (b) the number not proceeded with because of scarcity of development land and (c) the number approved by his Department.

The reply to the Deputy's question is as follows: (a) During the past two years the Industrial Development Authority have been approached by a number of industrialists who wished to consider the Drogheda area as a possible location for their projects but only one positive proposals was submitted and this was approved for grant assistance; (b) the authority have no knowledge of any project which was not proceeded with because of the scarcity of development land in the area; and (c) see (a) above.
