Vol. 263 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Kerry Factory Proposal.

32.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has received any proposals for a factory at Caherciveen, County Kerry, from a firm (name supplied) in Brittany, France; and the present position in the matter.

As I announced on the 25th October, 1972, the Industrial Development Authority has approved a grant to a French firm to establish at Cahirciveen, County Kerry a plant to manufacture fully fashioned knitwear for export.

An IDA advance factory is being provided and employment will be given initially to 67 workers. The company expects employment to rise to 200 over a five-year period.

Does not this identify the firm? The Minister refused to answer my supplementary about the industry in County Monaghan and now he gives out a whole lot of stuff about a firm in Cahirciveen in County Kerry.

I am not giving the amount of the grant.

My recollection is that the Minister did state the amount of the grant.

The Minister identified the firm.
