Vol. 263 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - McKinsey Report.

14.

asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the fact that the monthly meeting of the Western Health Board had to defer consideration of the McKinsey Report on Comhairle na nOspidéal and the regional hospital boards because copies of the report were not made available for members, he will make this report available to all health board members.

As stated in my reply of 26th October, 1972, to a previous question from the Deputy in relation to the same report, each health board was supplied with a copy of the report and such number of copies of a summary of the report as they required. A limited number of additional copies of the report have now become available and I am arranging that these will be distributed to the health boards, but I am afraid that there will not be sufficient for each member to have a copy.

Is the Minister going to discriminate in this matter? Which members of the health boards will receive copies?

I have not got the list of the members who will receive copies. A number of health boards have already furnished their observations, so the matter does not arise. In further reply to the Deputy, I consider that the summary is sufficient for the purposes of members of health boards. At the same time there is a copy of the full report, and an adequate explanation of it can be given by an officer appointed for that purpose.

Will the Minister be good enough to send me a copy?

The report of Comhairle na nOspidéal.

I will, if there is one available. I believe there is a copy in the Library.

As a member of a health board, I am asking the Minister to send me a copy.
