Vol. 263 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Welfare Recommendations.

21.

asked the Minister for Finance whether any consideration has been given by his Department to the recommendations of the Council of Social Welfare; and whether any of the recommendations will be included in the Fourth Programme of Economic and Social Development.

The memorandum on social policy received from the Council for Social Welfare has been considered in my Department. The proposals made therein will be borne in mind in preparing the Fourth Programme for Economic and Social Development.

Will the Minister be meeting any delegates from the Council for Social Welfare in the course of the preparation of the Fourth Programme?

I have no plans to do so.

The Minister would be prepared to meet them, if asked?

If I receive an application for such a meeting I will certainly consider it.
