The total number of new dwellings completed by the public and private sectors in the first nine months of 1972 was 14,897, of which 4,311 were provided by local authorities and 10,586 by other persons. Total output in the corresponding period of 1971 was 10,776 comprising 3,309 local authority and 7,467 other dwellings. In percentage terms, the increases in output in the current year are 30 per cent in local authority houses, 42 per cent in other houses, and 38 per cent in total output.
