Vol. 263 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Fund Grants.

158.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the large number of unemployed at the present time, he will have extra jobs created by local authorities with a view to improving the roads to take the extra volume of traffic.

The grants allocated to local authorities through the Road Fund in the current year total £14.4 million, an increase of £2 million on last year. These represent the full amount that can be provided from the funds available to me.
