asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of the age, employment or occupation and length of service of those members appointed by him to the health boards.

Three members were appointed by me to each of the eight health boards for a five-year period from 1st July, 1972. I do not have any details of the ages of these members. The information relating to their occupations is as follows:—

Businessmen, 8; Social Workers, 3; Doctors, 2; Farmers, 2; Housewives, 2; Accountant, 1; Independent means, 1; Laboratory Technician, 1; Priest, 1; Public Representative, 1; Solicitor, 1; University Lecturer, 1.

All of the persons concerned who are not classified as members of the medical profession have experience or are interested in the field of local or public administration, or participate in various types of community service.
