asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a detailed list of the salaries currently paid to Ministers and the additional expenses or payments they receive in the course of their official duties.

The Taoiseach is paid salary at a rate of £5,500 per annum and Government Ministers are paid salary at the rate of £3,500 per annum. In addition to salary they receive a Deputy's allowance of £2,500 per annum.

Official transport is provided for travel by Ministers within the State: for travel abroad they receive the appropriate travelling expenses. While travelling on official business Ministers are entitled to claim subsistence allowances at rates fixed from time to time by the Minister for Finance. Deputies' overnight allowances are not paid to Ministers.
