asked the Taoiseach (a) the total area of office accommodation currently (i) rented and (ii) owned in the city of Dublin by each of the State bodies for which he has responsibility (b) the total area of rented office accommodation in the city of Dublin which was first rented by these bodies in each of the years from 1960 to 1972 inclusive, including but distinguishing accommodation to be rented before the end of 1972 (c) the total amount of accommodation rented in each of these years (i) which is still rented by the bodies concerned and (ii) which is now owned by them (d) the amount of accommodation to be rented by the body concerned in the period ahead (i) for which leases have been signed and (ii) in respect of which decisions have been taken to sign leases and (e) the total number of staff in accommodation (i) currently rented and (ii) owned by these bodies.

This is a matter of day-to-day administration in which the Taoiseach has no function.

asked the Minister for Health (a) the total area of office accommodation currently rented in the city of Dublin by each of the State bodies for which he has responsibility, (b) the total area of office accommodation currently owned in the city of Dublin by each of the State bodies for which he is responsible, (c) the total area of rented office accommodation in the city of Dublin which was first rented by these bodies in each of the years from 1960 to 1972 inclusive, including (but distinguishing) accommodation to be rented before the end of 1972, (d) the total amount of accommodation rented in each of these years (i) which is still rented by the bodies concerned and (ii) which is now owned by them, (e) the amount of accommodation to be rented by the body concerned in the period ahead (i) for which leases have been signed and (ii) in respect of which decisions have been taken to sign leases, (f) the total number of staff in accommodation (i) currently rented and (ii) owned by these bodies.

The information requested in the question, which is related to the day-to-day administration of the bodies concerned, is not available in my Department. A list of the bodies will, if required, be supplied by my Department.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs (a) the total area of office accommodation currently rented in the city of Dublin by each of the State bodies for which he has responsibility, (b) the total area of office accommodation currently owned in the city of Dublin by each of the State bodies for which he is responsible, (c) the total area of rented office accommodation in the city of Dublin which was first rented by these bodies in each of the years from 1960 to 1972 inclusive, including (but distinguishing) accommodation to be rented before the end of 1972, (d) the total amount of accommodation rented in each of these years (i) which is still rented by the bodies concerned and (ii) which is now owned by them, (e) the amount of accommodation to be rented by the body concerned in the period ahead (i) for which leases have been signed and (ii) in respect of which decisions have been taken to sign leases, (f) the total number of staff in accommodation (i) currently rented and (ii) owned by these bodies.

No State body comes within the aegis of my Department.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power (a) the total area of office accommodation currently (i) rented and (ii) owned in the city of Dublin by each of the State bodies for which he has responsibility, (b) the total area of rented office accommodation in the city of Dublin which was first rented by these bodies in each of the years from 1960 to 1972, inclusive, including (but distinguishing) accommodation to be rented before the end of 1972, (c) the total amount of accommodation rented in each of these years (i) which is still rented by the bodies concerned and (ii) which is now owned by them, (d) the amount of accommodation to be rented by the body concerned in the period ahead (i) for which leases have been signed and (ii) in respect of which decisions have been taken to sign leases and (e) the total number of staff in accommodation (i) currently rented and (ii) owned by these bodies.

As I explained in reply to a question on 2nd June, 1971, the renting of office accommodation by the State-sponsored bodies is a matter falling within the responsibility of each of the bodies concerned. The information requested by the Deputy is, therefore, not available in my Department.

An Chomhairle Oiliúna (AnCO) and the Council for Education, Recruitment and Training for the Hotel Industry (CERT Ltd) are the only two semi-State bodies for which I am responsible. The information requested by the Deputy in regard to accommodation is given in the tabular statement below.

The provision of office accommodation for the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department is a matter of day-to-day administration for the bodies concerned and I have no function in this matter.

I have no function in regard to the renting or purchase of office accommodation by the bodies concerned, which are matters for the bodies themselves.

The acquisition of office accommodation by State bodies is a matter of day-to-day administration for the bodies themselves and one in which I have no function.
