Vol. 264 No. 8

Written Answers. - TCD Arts Block.

97.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has granted sanction for the Arts Block in Trinity College as designated in the outline plan submitted to him by the authorities of Trinity College, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Appeals were made by various parties under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, against the decision made by the planning authority to grant, subject to conditions, permission for the erection of a new Arts Block in Trinity College. The various points made for and against the proposal at the oral hearing of the appeals having been considered, an Order was made on 25th September, 1972, under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, granting permission for the development, subject to conditions which are mainly intended to preserve the visual amenities of the area.
