Vol. 264 No. 8

Written Answers. - Mayo Planning Appeal.

99.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position concerning the appeal to him regarding a planning application of a person (name supplied) in County Mayo.

I determined an appeal on the 20th November, 1972. There is no current appeal before me.

100.

asked the Minister for Local Government the date on which he received a planning appeal concerning lands at Oranmore, County Galway; the date on which it was withdrawn; and if he has any further observations on the matter.

I assume the Deputy is referring to an appeal on behalf of Mr. Martin Divilly received in my Department on 12th May, 1971, against a refusal by Galway County Council of outline planning permission for housing development in the townland of Carrowmoneash. The basic reason for refusal of permission by the planning authority was that the proposed development was premature pending the making of a village development plan for Oranmore. A development plan for Oranmore was being prepared by the planning authority and in the circumstances consideration of the appeal was deferred.

In the meantime the appeal on behalf of Mr. Divilly was withdrawn on 19th May, 1972.
