I propose to seek leave shortly to introduce and circulate a Bill to amend the Broadcasting Authority Acts, 1960 to 1971, to provide for the payment to Radio Telefís Éireann during the current and next financial year of grants equivalent to the net receipts from broadcasting licence fees. This amendment is necessary as the statutory authority for the payment of these grants expired on 31st March last.
