Vol. 264 No. 8

Vote 7: Office of the Revenue Commissioners.

I move:

That a sum not exceeding £9,330,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1973, for the salaries and expenses of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, including certain other services administered by that Office.

The Minister is aware that some time ago the question of VAT on bloodstock was raised by way of parliamentary question. I understand there were discussions proceeding between the Revenue Commissioners and representatives of the bloodstock industry. There is some concern at the delay in reaching an arrangement, particularly as early in the new year bloodstock will be moving into the country and out of it at the beginning of the breeding season. Perhaps the Minister would endeavour to get the discussions concluded?

I was not aware that there was any difficulty arising but I will certainly look into that.

Question put and agreed to.
