Tá sé de dhualgas orm anois buíochas ó chroí a ghabháil leis an Dáil as ucht na mór-onóra a bronnadh orm. Tá rún daingean agam dualgas an Taoisigh a chomhlíonadh, le cúnamh Dé, chomh dúthrachtach agus chomh dílis agus is féidir liom chun leas phobal na hÉireann uilig.

I am honoured by the Dáil and I wish to express my sincere thanks to the House for having appointed me as Taoiseach.

It is customary to adjourn at this stage in order to comply with constitutional formalities and, perhaps, there are some Deputies who would like a little sustenance. Therefore, we shall adjourn until 6 p.m.

Ba mhaith liom chomhgháirdeachas a dhéanamh leis an Taoiseach nua agus guím rath air.

If the House agrees, proceedings may be suspended until 6 p.m. When the Dáil resumes the Members on my left will please take their seats on my right and the Members on my right will please take their seats on my left in accordance with precedent.

Business suspended at 3.55 p.m. and resumed at 6 p.m.
