Vol. 265 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ophthalmic Services.

15.

asked the Minister for Health if he has any plans to extend the ophthalmic services available to medical card holders; if he intends to establish central clinics in each county; and if it will be possible for beneficiaries to have a choice of optician.

Following on representations made to me, I have directed that the adequacy of the ophthalmic services for medical card holders be examined in my Department. When this examination has been concluded, I shall decide whether there is a need for changes in the services.
