Vol. 265 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - United Ireland All-Party Committee.

7.

asked the Taoiseach if it is proposed to reconvene the all-party committee on the constitutional, legal and economic implications of a united Ireland.

I hope to pursue this in the near future.

Is the Taoiseach aware that the committee had procedure for consultation with representative political organisations in the North and would the Taoiseach recommend that those consultations should continue, or, would they be affected by the consultations that are now taking place with the Minister for Foreign Affairs?

There has been no change in this situation. The committee which existed before did not in any way inhibit consultation and I take it that it will not do so in the future.
