Vol. 265 No. 3

Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Bill, 1972: From the Seanad.

The Dáil went into committee to consider an amendment from the Seanad.

I move: That the Dáil agree with the Seanad in amendment No. 1:

SECTION 3.

In page 3, line 28, "supplemental or other" deleted and "other supplemental and incidental" substituted.

This is a very small amendment passed by the Seanad. The view was expressed in the Seanad that the section without the amendment gave too sweeping powers to the Minister and the deletion is simply——

On a point of order, is this an amendment from the Seanad? Surely the practice here has been that the Minister tells us that an amendment has been made in the Seanad and fixes a day for taking it?

I understand that that is how it has been done.

It was done before Easter.

Question put and agreed to.
Amendment reported and agreed to.
