Vol. 265 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Hospitals.

10.

asked the Minister for Health if he intends to make more capital available for the provision of hospitals in the Dublin area.

The total capital allocation for 1973-74 for the Dublin area is £2.07 million which is the maximum which can be made available in the current year.

Is it not true that members of the Minister's party were very critical of the previous Administration because of lack of funds in this regard?

Does the Deputy think it is too much or too little?

It is not too much anyway.

11.

asked the Minister for Health the present position regarding the proposed new hospital for Tralee, County Kerry.

A document covering revised operational policies and schedules of accommodation for the proposed new hospital, which was submitted by the health board, is being examined in my Department at present. A decision will be conveyed to the health board at the earliest possible date.
