asked the Minister for Local Government if the Central Development Fund is not to be the source of funds for the improvement of the road from Belmullet to Ballyglass,
County Mayo, whether it is proposed to upgrade the status of the road, so that funds from the main road grant will be available for this purpose.
The reclassification of the road does not arise at present. A grant of £40,000 from the Road Fund has been offered to Mayo County Council towards the cost of improvement of this road. It will be open to the council to apply such further moneys as they may consider appropriate to this scheme out of their annual Road Fund allocation for the improvement of county roads.
