asked the Minister for Education (a) the number of new schools under all headings built in County Wexford during the five years ended on 31st March, 1973, the total cost and the total amount of State grants provided; and (b) the number of new schools in course of erection on 1st April, 1973, the estimated cost and the estimated amount of State grants.

Following is the statement:

School Building Programme County Wexford

Primary Schools

(a) Sixteen new Primary Schools were built in County Wexford during the five years ended on 31st March, 1973—The final cost figure is not available in all cases but the total estimated cost is £560,000 and the estimated amount of State Grants is £485,000.

(b) There are 4 Primary Schools in the course of erection. Their estimated cost is £240,000 and the estimated State Grants £210,000.

Post-Primary Schools

(a) New Post-Primary Schools built in County Wexford during five years ended 31st March, 1973—18 (includes 15 extensions and 1 reconstruction).

(b) New schools in course of erection on 1st April, 1973—Nil.
