Vol. 265 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Community Schools Design.

21.

asked the Minister for Education if he is satisfied with the currently proposed design of community schools, bearing in mind the concern voiced by architects and interested bodies regarding the quality of the building and their environment.

Mr. R. Burke

I am satisfied that these plans will provide us with buildings which will cater fully for all the relevant aspects of second-level education, including environmental aspects.

I am afraid that the criticism of the plans was somewhat premature. In fact, educationists and psychologists who have examined the plans in detail have expressed themselves as being very satisfied with them.
