The number of additional staff appointed in my Department since 15th March, 1973, was three. Two of these appointments were arranged for by my predecessor and the remaining one was that of personal assistant in my own office.
In regard to changes in personnel, there were 23 appointments to fill vacancies which arose in the ordinary course due to retirements, promotions, et cetera.
A journalist is employed in my Department in the capacity of Information Officer. He is Mr. Donald MacManus, who was appointed on 9th October, 1972.
