Vol. 265 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballina Dispensary Premises.

66.

asked the Minister for Health when proposals for the repair of the existing dispensary in Ballina, County Mayo for its use as a headquarters for a group practice will be sanctioned.

I am advised that the siting of the group practice at the existing dispensary premises which is in a restricted area would be likely to cause environmental problems such as parking difficulties. A discussion has been arranged with officers of the Western Health Board for the purpose of selecting a site for the group practice premises which would be closer to the hospital so as to avail of the services provided by the hospital and in an area of easy access with adequate parking space. When the site has been agreed, the planning of the new group practice premises will be undertaken as quickly as possible.
