asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make representations to the appropriate authorities to ensure that Merrion Square, Dublin, is opened up as a public park.

This is a matter for the owners of Merrion Square and Dublin Corporation. The Deputy may have seen the fairly recent statement from the Dublin Diocesan Press Office indicating that the square would be handed over to Dublin Corporation for use as a public park as soon as certain legal problems associated with the transfer were resolved.
