I assume that the Deputy's question relates to nursing staff structures in general hospitals. The Irish Nursing Organisation made representations to my Department in August last on this subject and were informed by my predecessor in September that consideration of this proposal would have to be deferred for the time being.
I have agreed to a request from the organisation to meet their representatives in the near future to discuss this matter further.
