Vol. 266 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clare Medical Appointment.

19.

andMr. Daly asked the Minister for Health the provision he is making for the appointment of a resident doctor in Sixmilebridge, County Clare.

The making of arrangements for the provision of general medical services for those covered by medical cards in any particular area is a matter for the health-board—in this case, the MidWestern Health Board. I understand that, while the board has tried unsuccessfully on two occasions to obtain a resident doctor for the area, the alternative arrangements which have been made for the provision of services for eligible patients in the area are operating satisfactorily.
