Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford CPO.

67.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the inquiry with regard to the compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of lands at Cushinstown, County Wexford, for urgent road widening purposes was held; and if he has as yet confirmed the order.

The public local inquiry in relation to the County Wexford Compulsory Purchase (Cushinstown Ballymacar) Order, 1972, was held on 16th January, 1973. I will convey my decision as soon as possible.

Has the Parliamentary Secretary any information as to when we may expect a decision in regard to this compulsory purchase order? It is a very, very urgent matter. At least, will the Parliamentary Secretary ask the Minister to confirm it immediately?

Eight objections to the order were received when the public inquiry took place on 16th January, 1973. The transcript of evidence was received from the notetaker on 11th May, 1973, and the report of the inspector who held the inquiry has not yet been furnished. We have asked him to expedite it.
